Glassware, dishes, decor, and electronics can arrive safely—if you pack them right. Here’s a practical method our crews use every day.
What you’ll need
Sturdy small/medium boxes
Bubble wrap or foam sheets
Packing paper, tape, marker
Dividers for glasses (optional)
Towels or soft clothing as fillers
Stretch wrap for bundles + “Fragile/This Side Up” labels
Step‑by‑step method
Pad the bottom. Add a 2–3 inch cushion of crumpled paper or bubble wrap.
Wrap each item individually. For glass/ceramic, start with paper, then add bubble if needed.
Stand plates vertically. Use foam sheets between each plate.
Fill all gaps. Use soft items or paper so nothing can shift.
Double‑box delicate sets. Small box inside a slightly larger one with padding on all sides.
Seal and label clearly. Mark room + “Fragile • This Side Up” on two sides and the top.
Packing specific items
Glasses & stemware: Wrap stems separately, then the whole glass; keep upright and fill
voids.
TVs & monitors: Original box is best; otherwise protect the screen with foam and keep
upright.
Dishes & bowls: Nest with paper between layers; heavier items at the bottom.
Vases & decor: Fill hollow spaces first, then wrap; consider double‑boxing.
Moving day handling
Load fragile boxes last so they come off first.
Keep upright arrows facing the correct direction.
Use straps to prevent shifting during transport.
Never stack heavy boxes on top of fragile ones.
